New Jersey Guardians Add Walter "Coach Rad" Radziszewski to Staff

By New Jersey Guardians Staff, 06/22/20, 5:00PM EDT

Coach Rad, as he is affectionately known by players near and far, joins the New Jersey Guardians after over a decade of coaching outside the walls of the Ocean Ice Palace.

Prior to his coaching career, Coach Rad played for the Old Bridge Wings youth hockey organization, as well as the Niagara Falls Canucks as part of the old Golden Horseshoe Junior Hockey League.

As early as 1990, Coach Rad was part of an Ocean Hockey Academy staff responsible for the training and betterment of hockey players at the Jersey Shore. Not only was he an OHA counselor, but he also served as a mainstay on the benches of the Ice Palace in their many recreational leagues throughout the years. In the early 2000's, Coach Rad would go on to coach youth hockey with the Toms River Blackhawks and New Jersey Jr. Titans, as well as enjoying a short stint behind the bench of Monsignor Donovan (now Donovan Catholic) High School.

Over the course of his coaching tenure, Coach Rad has moved players on from humble beginnings to AAA, Junior, and College hockey. It is now, during the 2020/2021 season, that Coach Rad will return to the Ocean Ice Palace to coach the New Jersey Guardians as Head Coach of the Guardians 16/19U Women's Program and will serve as an Assistant Coach for the Guardians 16U Co-Ed team!

The Guardians are extremely fortunate to have Coach Rad as a part of our inaugural staff!
